Parking Guide for Stanley Park Lawn Bowling Club (SPLBC)

If you have not visited SPLBC in a few years, there have been changes in traffic flow within Stanley Park. This guide is intended to make it as easy as possible to come and park your vehicle and enjoy your day of bowling with us.

There are no free parking spaces near our club. Pay parking throughout Stanley Park is $14.25 per day, so you might want to consider carpooling. Note: You can pay at ANY of the numerous machines and park ANYWHERE in the park.

There is parking directly in front of our club but there is no ticket machine there, so pay for your parking at a machine along the route indicated ($) on the map below.

Because of the traffic changes, we strongly suggest entering the park via Nelson Street. When you reach the end of Nelson Street, turn RIGHT and then LEFT when you see the sign for “Pitch and Putt”. You will soon see a ticket machine on your right, and it is a convenient place to jump out and pay for your ticket, and then proceed to our club on the route indicated on this map. If the spaces in front of the club are filled (approx 16), proceed to the Parks Board building and park there.

  • HEAD VISITS:Bowlers who have the 4 middle bowls are allowed one visit to the head.
  • JACK OUT OF BOUNDS: Re-spot the jack on the 2 metre ‘T’.

  • BYE. If a bye is unavoidable, the team receiving the bye will be awarded 3 points and a shot differential that is the average of all other games in that same round.

Any “no-shows” will forfeit their entry fee.  The Convener has the authority to suspend, reschedule or cancel play if adverse weather conditions are an issue.  In the event of  cancellation before the game has started, entry fees will be refunded. SPLBC reserve the right to deduct club expenses in the event of cancellation. If only one game has been completed before the cancellation, entry fee money will be donated to a local charity, after club expenses have been deducted.  If two or more games have been played before cancellation, prize money will be distributed based on the results of the played games.

Past Winners:

 2021 R. Berridge/W. Hawrysh (SPLBC)

2019 M. Kelly/K. Sawyer (NVLBC)

2018 J. Aitken/D. Lewis (SPLBC)

2017 J. Duholke/W. Fladl (WVLBC)

*Strength of opposition (SOO) is established by adding up the final placement standings of your four opponents. For example, if your four opponents finished in 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th place, your SOO would add up to to50’. The lower SOO number between the teams that are tied wins the tie breaker. If electronic scoreboard is not in use, ends won in last game will be the (c) tie breaker.
